Dave Skidmore was bitten in 2009 noticing the bulls-eye rash after a family excursion. Although he was treated right away, his symptoms reappeared after his prescribed 20 days of doxycycline. This began a series of doctors visits that lasted two years, before he was properly diagnosed.

As a result of his struggles with Lyme, and his frustrations with being unable to receive proper treatment, Dave was inspired to create a series of cartoons called Lyme Loonies, which has gained popularity in the Lyme community and was picked up by ILADS to raise awareness for Lyme.

I practice acupuncture in Clinton, NY, a small village in the geographical center of the state. Once I became aware of Lyme and other insect carried diseases, I started seeing my chronic patients in an entirely different light. Join me as I speak with the the most fascinating people in the Lyme community. If you know someone I should interview, let me know.
