First Impressions

Eva Sapi is an Associate Professor of Biology and Environmental Science at New Haven University. She joined the University of New Haven faculty in 2001.  Professor Sapi grew up in Hungary and earned her Ph.D. in genetics before coming to the United States for postdoctoral training in molecular biology at the Yale University’s School of Medicine. Dr. Sapi researches Lyme Disease, Pathogenic Biofilm, Antibiotics Resistance, and Different Morphology of Borrelia burgdorferi.

Dr. Sapi’s original research at the University of New Haven is so important to the Lyme community. Not only is she answering basic questions about the nature of b. Bergdorferi, but she is an independent thinker who is not tied to any special interest group. Thank goodness she got interested in Lyme disease.

Lyme and Health Experts

As a regular listener to Lyme Ninja Radio, you will be exposed to many experts in and around the Lyme Community. It’s important to keep tabs on the latest developments in Lyme research and treatment, and it’s also important to cross pollinate these ideas with experts outside of the Lyme community. Many scientific breakthroughs happen unexpectedly. The most famous example is the accidental discovery of penicillin. By including experts from field outside of the Lyme community, I hope to keep our thinking fresh.
