Episode #167: Rob Abbott, MD - The most common Lyme co-infections

In this episode you will learn:

  • Why mycoplasma is not technically a ‘co-infection’
  • A helpful resource for talking to your doctor about potential co-infections
  • And how the future of disease treatment is immune modulation therapy

Meet this week’s guest: Dr. Rob Abbott

Rob Abbott is a first year family medicine resident at the Virginia Commonwealth University in Front Royal, Virginia. He graduated from the University of Virginia School of Medicine in 2017. He approaches medicine from an evolutionary and functional perspective and practices what he calls “spiritually focused and evolutionarily informed functional medicine.”

I practice acupuncture in Clinton, NY, a small village in the geographical center of the state. Once I became aware of Lyme and other insect carried diseases, I started seeing my chronic patients in an entirely different light. Join me as I speak with the the most fascinating people in the Lyme community. If you know someone I should interview, let me know.
